Application [Program Name] is not responding 

This error comes in all Windows versions, though error messages and options vary slightly for every operating system. In most scenarios, the cause mostly is the program that is having too long to respond than projected to complete its function. But before clicking 'End now' or 'Close the program', it's recommended to give the program a opportunity to finish what it is doing and only appears if a program is still running but attempting to do something difficult. If a certain program keeps producing this kind of error, it's recommended to check any updates or re-installing the program completely.
Turn On The PC And Nothing Happens

What is the first thing you will do after you plug your PC and found out that it has no lights, no beeps, no fan noise and no hard drive noise? Check your PC if it was plugged in! Let's say all connections are okay after you've double check, the first culprit here is the power connector. Check if the power connector is functioning. Also check for any rat or animal bite impressions on the connector, sometimes animal bite cuts wire connections. The second culprit here is the AVR or UPS; fuse maybe blown. The third culprit here is the Power Supply; you can find this on the back-top of the PC.



This is a very common problem, and most of the time, it has a very easy fix. Follow the below steps:
  1. Power - Verify that the monitor has power and the power cord is firmly attached. Detailed instructions for accomplishing this task can be found above.
  2. Video Cable - Double check that the video cable is connected to the computer. If the cable has become loose you may need to push it back in and tighten the screws that hold it in place.
  3. Brightness & Contrast - Check the brightness and contrast controls on the monitor; It might have gotten bumped or changed accidentally. It may sound stupid, but this was one of the most common causes for people bringing their monitor in for repair when my friend work at a computer store. Most monitors have a button on them to reset all of the settings -- try pushing that.
  4. Swap Parts - If possible, try swapping with another monitor that is known to work and vice-versa. If your monitor works on another computer, than the problem, most likely lies with your video card and/or motherboard. If your computer works with another monitor it might be time to invest in a new monitor.
  5. Push In Video Card - Open up your machine and firmly push down on your video card so that you are sure that it is making contact with all of the contacts in the slot. If you computer was jumped and the screw that holds it down was not tight enough it could have come loose.
Overheating solution for laptop
Symptom:

Solution: 
Clean out air vents, put filtered material over the inhalation vent, or update BIOS

Overheating can rob your laptop of performance and often cause a host of hiccups, such as system crashes and freezing. Every computer generates lots of heat, but laptops are especially susceptible to overheating due to their small size and lack of ventilation. Excessive dust can clog air vents and deprive your system of cold air to cool off the CPU. You can often solve overheating issues simply by cleaning out these air vents with a cloth or keyboard cleaner.

To prevent further dust buildup, place a piece of filtered cloth, say from a Swiffer, over the inhalation vent. Don't place one over the exhaust vent, as that's where hot air is supposed to flow out of the system quickly. If the cloth doesn't work, you may want to update your system's BIOS, which controls the laptop's hardware. Most manufacturers offer an installation file that updates BIOS files automatically, which often address heat management. Just make sure that your notebook is connected to the power supply when updating the BIOS.

AT, ATX, BTX SMPS Connectors, voltages and functions 

There are three types of SMPSs. They are AT, ATX, BTX. These three types of SMPSs have different connectors and each wire has different voltages. Here the connectors and its voltages.


AT SMPSs have 12 pin power connector, ATX SMPSs have 20 pin power connector and BTX SMPSs have 24 and 28 pin power connectors. AT power supplies were used in 80’s and from 1996 we use ATX power supplies.  Here are the AT, ATX and BTX SMPSs voltages and users.

Gray & Brown: It is used for power good signal in ATX
Purple              : It is used for auto shutdown in ATX
 

 

Connecting Front Panel Connectors - Power Switch, Power LED, HDD LED and Reset Switch

Front Panel Connectors are come with cabinet. These connectors are connected to Motherboard.

Front Panel Connectors are Power SW, Power LED, HDD LED and Reset SW. In Assembling process These connectors are connected to motherboard pins. There is a front panel pins on motherboard.

Here is the chart to connect front panel connectors. 6 and 8, both pins are power sw pins. so you can connect power sw to 6,8 pins.  Power LED connector has two wires. 2 and 4 pins are power LED pins. so you can connect 2,4 pins to power LED. but LED has + (plus) and - (minus) pins. 2 is +(Plus) pin, 4 is -(minus) pin. so you can connect power LED green wire to pin 2, white wire to pin4. Pins 1 and 3 for HDD LED and pins 5 and 7 for Reset SW.

Latest motherboards have On board speaker. so no need to connect speaker. but old model motherboard and systems have speaker and speaker pins. speaker pins are near to front panel connectors.  it is a four pin connector.

Removing Thumbs.db Virus

You know thumbs file is a supported file for image files or is it a virus file. We will see these files when we search for images and images folders. Is there any problem with this thumbs.db file? Here I mentioned the solution for this.

Actually it is a supported file but some hackers changed this file in to virus file and it is a hidden file. So if you see this thumbs.db file in your images folder, you must delete it.
To delete these files, in search box search as thumbs and delete all thumbs files. But it is wasting of time, because this file won’t delete completely on images folder. So the one and only way to delete all the files is using annihilator software. Download from below url.

Power Supply and SMPS Problems

 SMPS and SMPS problems, all are know SMPS is a main power supply to give power to all the parts inside the CPU. Some times you have face SMPS related problems. So here I mentioned some SMPS related problems and their solutions.

Your system has any SMPS problems, then your CPU parts will be in danger, so whenever your system faces any hardware problem, You check your SMPS first.

System restarting problems will rise with defective SMPS. You face any restarting problems with your system, first you check your SMPS and repair it. You face continous restaring problem, then check your system with another SMPS. Replace your SMPS to solve the problem.

Power ups (High Voltage) and downs (Low Voltage):

Power ups and downs problem is the first problem to all SMPS problems. Your system faces with power ups and downs problem, then SMPS will damage immediately. Other than other computer parts such as motherboard, hard disk drive, and CD or DVD writers will damage. Sometimes it will happen, but this type of situations sometimes SMPS fuse will gone. So check your SMPS, if it is problem with fuse, open the SMPS and replace the fuse to solve this problem. If you’re SMPS burned with power ups and downs, then replace your SMPS.

SMPS wattage problems:

SMPS wattage problems are very rare problems. This problem will rise when you add another hard disk drive and CD or DVD drives. When you connect additional hard disk drive, then our hard disk drive won’t be detected. If you have this type of problem you must replace SMPS to solve this problem.
